안녕하세요. 오늘은 우리나라 인물 중 하나인 '알에서 태어나 고구려를 세우셨던 주몽'에 대해 설명해드리도록

살았던 때  삼국시대, 기원전 58년~기원전 19년

했던 일  기원전 37년 졸본을 도읍으로 정하고 고구려를 세움.

알에서 사람이 태어나다니, 이게 무슨 일이야?!

어느 날, 부여의 금와왕이 태백산 남쪽에 있는 우발수라는 강가를 지날 떄 였습니다. 한 여인이 슬프게 울고 있는 겁니다. 그 이유를 물으니 "저는 물의 신 하백의 딸 유화입니다. 동생들과 물놀이를 나왔다가 해모수를 만나 부모의 허락 없이 결혼하여 그만 쫓겨났어요." 라고 하였지요. 금와왕은 유화 부인을 불쌍히 여거 궁으로 데리고 왔는데 어느날 유화 부인에게 신기한 일이 생겼습니다. 유화 부인이 그만 알을 낳았지 뭐에요?!

금와왕은 유화 부인이 낳은 알이 불길하다고 여겨 알을 버리라고 지시했습니다.

동물들은 버려진 알을 피하더니 새는 날아와 날개로 알을 품기도 하였습니다.

금와왕은 알을 깨뜨리려고 애를 썼지만 결국 실패하자 알을 다시 유화 부인에게 돌려주었습니다.

얼마 뒤 알을 깨고 건강한 사내아이가 태어났습니다. 아이는 7살에 나이에 활과 화살을 스스로 만들어 쏘았고, 쏘는 화삶다 명중하니 부여 사람들은 '활을 잘 쏘는 사람'이라는 뜻으로 그 아이를 주몽이라고 불렀습니다.

열려라 참꺠! 아니, 열려라 강물?!

금와왕은 주몽에게 말을 기르느 허드렛일을 맡겼습니다. 슬기로운 주몽은 여러말 중에서 가장 뛰어난 말은 일부러 먹이를 적게 주어 마르게 하였지요. 그리하여 주몽은 아무도 거들떠보지 않게 된 뛰어난 말을 얻을 수 있었습니다.

금와왕에게는 일곱 아들이 있었는데 이들은 주몽을 늘 시기하였습니다. 주몽이 일곱 왕자들과 사냥 시합에서 크게 활약을 하자 왕자들은 더 이상 두고 볼 수 없다며 주몽을 없애려고 했지요. 유화 부인이 미리 이것을 알려 주몽은 급히 부여를 도망쳐 나왔습니다. 부여에서 뒤쫓아 오는 병사들을 피해 도망을 가던 주몽은 엄시수라는 강 앞에서 길이 막혀 버리게 되었습니다.

길이 막힌 주몽이 강 앞에서 소리치며 도움을 외쳤어요.

주몽 : 나는 천제의 손자요, 하백의 외손자 입니다.

지금 달아나 목숨을 구하려 하는데, 강을 건널 수 없소.

어찌해야 합니까?

천제의 손자이자 하백의 외손자라는 외침에 신기할 일이 벌어졌습니다.

어디에선가 갈대가 연결되고 거북과 물고기가 몰려오더니 물 위로 다리를 만들어 주었어.

그 덕에 무사히 강을 건넌 주몽은 뒤쫓던 부여의 병사들을 따돌릴 수 있었습니다.

무사히 강을 건넌 주몽은 이후 재사, 무골, 묵거 세 사람을 만나 도움을 얻었습니다.

그리고 이들과 함꼐 졸본을 도읍으로 정하고 기원전 37년 고구려를 세웠습니다.

고구려의 두 번쨰 왕도 부여에서 왔다고?!

고구려의 첫 번째 도읍이었던 졸본은 산악 지역으로 산세가 험하여 적의 침략을 방어하기 유리했지만 농업이 발달하기 어려웠습니다. 그래서 고구려는 건국 초부터 주변 지역으로 영토를 넓히기 위해 활발한 정복 활동을 했지요.

한편 주몽은 부여를 떠나올 때 이미 결혼을 하여 부인을 두고 있었습니다. 주몽의 아내 예씨 부인은 마침 뱃속에 아이를 가지고 있었답니다.

추몽의 아내 예씨 부인은 차마 함꼐 떠나지 못하고 부여에 남아 사내아이를 낳았어요. 이후 아들 유리는 부여를 떠나 아버지인 주몽을 찾아왔답니다. 이미 고구려에서 자식을 두고 있던 주몽은 이후 유리에게 왕의 자리를 물려주었습니다.

주몽(동명 성왕)을 이어 왕위에 오른 유리왕은 압록강 주변의 국내성을 새 도읍으로 삼았습니다.

이후 고구려 안으로는 강력한 왕권을 세워 나라를 안정시키고, 밖으로는 영토를 넓히고자 노력하며 삼국 시대에서 가장 먼저 중앙 집권 국가의 모습을 갖추게 되었습니다.

King Keumwah tried to break the eggs, but when they failed, he returned the eggs to Mrs. Yu.


Soon after, a healthy baby boy was born. At the age of seven, she made her own bow and arrow, and when she hit the mark, the Buyeo people called her Jumong, which means 'a good bowler.'

King Keumwah entrusted Jumong with the work of horses raising chores. The wise Jumong deliberately dried the best horses by feeding them less. So Jumong was able to get an excellent horse that no one would dare to look at.


King Geumwa had seven sons, who were always jealous of Jumong. When Jumong played a big part in the hunt with the seven princes, he said, "I can't wait and see anymore," and tried to get rid of Jumong. Mrs. Yu Hua told him this in advance and Jumong ran away from Buyeo. Jumong escaped from Buyeo and was blocked in front of a river called Um Si-su.





Jumong shouted for help in front of the river.





Jumong: I am the grandson of Heaven, the only grandson of Habaek.


I'm trying to escape and save my life, but I can't cross the river.

A strange thing happened to the cries of the grandson of the Emperor and the only grandson of the Habaek.





Somewhere reeds were connected, turtles and fish came and built bridges over the water.


That helped Jumong, who crossed the river safely, beat out the soldiers of Buyeo.





After crossing the river safely, Jumong met with three men, Jae-sa, Mu-gol, and Muk-gu.


And together with them, we decided to make a capital city and built Goguryeo in 37 B.C.





The second king of Goguryeo came from Buyeo, too?!





Zolbon, the first capital of Goguryeo, was a mountainous region, so it was advantageous to defend against enemy aggression, but agriculture was difficult to develop. So since the beginning of its foundation, Goguryeo has been actively conquering the surrounding areas to expand its territory.


Jumong, meanwhile, was already married and had a wife when he left Buyeo. Jumong's wife, Mrs. Yeh, happened to have a baby in her stomach.





Chu-Mong's wife, Yee-Mong's wife, could not leave and stayed in Buyeo to have a baby boy. Since then, her son Yuri has left Buyeo to visit his father Jumong. Jumong, who already had a child in Goguryeo, later handed over the throne to Yuri.





King Yuri, who ascended the throne after Jumong (King Seong of the same name), took the national castle around the Yalu River as his new capital.


Since then, Goguryeo has established a powerful kingdom within Goguryeo to stabilize the country and expand its territory outside, becoming the first kingdom in the Three Kingdoms Period to take the form of a central government.
