벵갈루루 궁전

벵갈루루 도심지에 위치한 궁전으로, 1887년 우데야르 
왕조 당시에 건설된 왕궁이다. 마이소르 궁전에 비해 
규모는 작으나, 벵갈루루를 대표하는 유적지이며 유럽풍 
건축양식을 보유한 독특한 건축물이다. 실내에는 손으로 
직접 그린 꽃무늬 벽지와 장식, 영국·중국에서 수입한 
도기, 가구, 샹들리에 등이 비치되어 있어 궁전의 내부를 
한층 고급스럽게 조성했다. 

비다나소우다(쿠본파크) 

비다나소우다는 카르나타카 주 의회와 주 행정부가 위치한 
관청으로, 마이소르 궁전을 묘사한 건축방식과 거대한 
규모로 유명하다. 1956년에 건설되었으며, ‘Government 
work is God’s work’라는 표어가 관청 정문에 음각으로 
새겨져 있다. 비다나소우다 정면에는 붉은벽돌로 지은 
고등법원과 벵갈루루의 상징인 쿠본파크가 위치해 있다. 

랄박식물원 

벵갈루루 도심지 남쪽에 위치한 랄박식물원은 약 97㎡ 
면적에 1천 종이 넘는 남인도 자생식물과 열대희귀수목, 
영국풍의 유리온실과 분수를 갖춘 식물원이다. 18세기 
이슬람 왕조를 연 하이데르 알리와 그의 아들 티푸 술탄이 
대를 이어 조성했던 정원이 그 시초로 알려져 있다. 벵갈루루에 
‘정원의 도시’라는 별명을 붙여준 아름다운 식물원 
으로 산책을 즐기기에 좋다. 

유비시티 
벵갈루루에서 가장 유명한 관광지 중의 하나이며, 그와 
동시에 가장 부유한 사람들이 자주 찾는 상업시설이 
위치한 곳이다. 각종 명품, 기념품점, 고급레스토랑 등 
다수의 상점이 밀집해 있다. 유비시티에 위치한 ‘유비 
타워(UB Tower)는 벵갈루루에서 5번째로 높은 건물로 
높이는 128m이다. 

이스컨템플 

힌두교의 한 분파인 이스컨(ISKCON) 종파의 사원으로, 
벵갈루루에 건설한 이 사원은 규모면에서도 가장 크다. 
벵갈루루 내 힌두교인들이 자주 찾는 성지 중 한 곳이기에 
입장할 당시부터 신발을 벗고 들어가야 하며, 짧은 옷 
차림을 입고서는 들어갈 수 없다. 야간에는 사원에 조명을 
환하게 켜고 축제일에는 불꽃놀이도 하는 등 벵갈루루 
시민들에게 관광명소로 알려져 있다.

Bengaluru Palace
