○ 인도 아대륙 남서부 지역에 있는 주로, 북쪽은 마하라슈트라와 고아,
동쪽은 안드라프라데시와 텔랑가나, 남쪽은 케랄라, 타밀나두와 인접
○ 카르나타카 주는 30개 지구(District)로 구성. 대표적 도시로는 벵갈루루
(Bengaluru), 마이수루(Mysuru) 등이 소재
○ 지역의 상당부분이 해발 300~900m에 해당하는 고원지대에 속하여
인도 남부지역에 위치해있으나 서늘하고 건기와 우기 구분이 큼.

○ Provinces in the southwestern part of the Indian subcontinent, Maharashtra and Goa in the north,
East is adjacent to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, south to Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
○ Karnataka is composed of 30 districts. Representative city is Bangalore (Bengaluru), Mysuru, etc.
○ A large part of the area belongs to the highlands of 300-900m above sea level.
It is located in the southern part of India, but it is cool and has a large distinction between dry and wet seasons.

○ 최근 10년간 인구유입으로 2017년 기준 벵갈루루는 1,200만 명을
돌파, 중산층 및 젊은 소비계층 보유한 거대 내수시장 등극

○ (헬스케어) 공공의료 접근성 강화정책과 함께 IT기술과 접목한
원격의료, 모바일 어플리케이션 개발 활성화 단계

정보통신(IT) 산업
○ 세계에서 네 번째로 큰 IT 클러스터를 보유한 카르나타카 주
- 인도 내 2천여 개 IT기업 중 20%가 벵갈루루에 위치
- 대표적 IT기업으로는 인포시스, Wipro, 타타 컨설턴시(TCS) 및
기타 다국적 기업(Dell, IBM, 마이크로소프트) 등
○ 세계 우수 소프트웨어 기업의 연구거점
- 카네기멜론대학 SW개발능력평가(SEI-CMM)에서 Level 5 등급을
획득한 우수기업 대다수가 벵갈루루 내 연구소 소재
○ 47개 IT/ITeS SEZ, IT 전용 투자지역에 3,500여 개 현지 IT기업이
소재해있으며, IT투자지역으로 분류되어 주 정부의 정책지원을 수혜

Information and communication (IT) industry
○ Karnataka has the world's fourth largest IT cluster
-20% of India's 2,000 IT companies are located in Bengaluru
-Representative IT companies include Infosys, Wipro, Tata Consultancy (TCS) and
Other multinational companies (Dell, IBM, Microsoft), etc.
○ Research base of world-class software companies

Most of the best companies acquired are located in research centers in Bengaluru

용 중인 방산 헬리콥터, 항공기 제품의 67%이상 현지제조 목표
- 높은 투자와 기술력으로 세계 6위이며 전 세계 기술 콘텐츠의
70%이상이 인도 국내에서만 공급 중
- 인도 최초의 항공우주 산업 관련 경제특구지역(SEZ)이 벨가움

엔지니어링 산업
○ 카르나타카 주 2018-19 엔지니어링 산업 수출액은 47.8억 달러를
기록하였고, 2019년 4월부터 11월까지 수출액은 27.5억 달러를 기록
○ 제품은 독일, 중국, 한국, 브라질, 미국 등으로 수출되며, 카르나타카 주
내 주요 수출업체들은 벵갈루루, 후블리, 마이수루 등에 위치
○ 주요 수출 품목으로는 산업용 공구, 산업용 기계, 절삭 공구, 주물,
자동차 부품, 건설 및 토목 장비 등이 있음.

Aerospace industry
○ Major aerospace industry development base in India
-More than 25% of Indian aerospace products are in Karnataka.

인프라 산업
○ 인구유입, 도시성장으로 인프라 수요 증가
- 도로, 철도, 항만/항공시설 등 기본 SOC와 전력·통신 등으로
공공분야에 대한 투자 추진
- 재정적자 우려, 수익성 확보 위해 PPP 프로젝트 확대
○ (철도·도시철도) PPP방식으로 철도개발이 진행 중이며 2018-2019
예산안 기준 25.3억 달러, 총 160km 철도공사를 승인

Infrastructure industry
○ Increased infrastructure demand due to population inflow and urban growth
-Basic SOC such as roads, railroads, ports/aviation facilities, and power and communication
Promotion of investment in the public sector
-Concerns about fiscal deficit, expanding PPP projects to secure profitability
○ (Railroad·Urban Railroad) Railroad development is in progress through PPP method, 2018-2019
Approved for a total of 160km railroad construction with a budget of USD 2.53 billion
